Welcome Message from the Program Director Thank you for your interest in the training programs in Surgery at Case Western Reserve University Hospitals. Our mission is to provide the finest training available to individuals who are motivated, compassionate and willing to contribute to the excellence of the program for the benefit of all participants. Please visit the web pages associated with the Case Surgical Residency Program to learn more about specific surgical rotations, faculty biosketches, current residents, recent graduates and the educational conferences. As a part of our ongoing effort to improve the educational experience, conferences and yearly rotations may be modified based upon resident feedback at our yearly retreat. Surgical training is divided among many outstanding hospitals to provide a broad range of experience at the following locations:
During recent years our residents have scored well on both the Qualifying and Certifying exams of the American Board of Surgery. A surgery core curriculum has been established which includes focused readings during each surgical rotation, a resident orchestrated SESAP review series, and a surgical skills lab using live animal models and virtual reality simulation models. At Case, our mission is “to heal, to teach and to discover.” If you seek a surgical training program which is dynamic, steeped in tradition but with an eye towards the future, consider Case Surgery. We look forward to meeting with you and sharing our vision of surgical education in the new millennium. Julian Kim, M.D. |
